Just be aware that snow is possible in Yellowstone in October, especially the farther into the month you go. We have been to Yellowstone, Grand Teton, and the Black Hills of South Dakota in September and early October and love being here at this time of year. Crowds are lower and you could see some fall colors. If you don’t have to travel during the summer months, the end of September into early October is an awesome time to visit Yellowstone, Devils Tower, and Mount Rushmore.
